About Esaias Hobbs | Licensed Acupuncturist in Lewes
Training and Qualifications
I have been practising Chinese medicine for over 20 years and am a fully licensed acupuncturist (LicAcC).
My formal training began with a Licence in Acupuncture from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, followed by extensive postgraduate study in Classical Chinese Medicine. I am an active member of the British Acupuncture Council (MBAcC).
My clinical foundation is strongly informed by the teachings of Jeffrey Yuen’s lineage, through which I studied not only acupuncture, but the classical medical philosophy that underpins diagnosis, treatment strategy, and long-term care.
Clinical Experience
Over the past two decades, I have worked with thousands of individuals experiencing a wide range of conditions, including pain, stress-related disorders, hormonal imbalance, fatigue, post-viral illness and chronic health patterns.
My approach is pattern-led rather than symptom-led. Every treatment is shaped by careful observation of how your system functions as a whole - including physical presentation, emotional state, lifestyle factors and medical history.
I regularly work with people navigating major transitions such as menopause, fertility challenges, recovery after illness and periods of emotional strain. Treatment is tailored to support regulation, stability, and longer-term resilience rather than short-term suppression of symptoms.
Philosophy of Practice
My work is grounded, precise, and unrushed.
Chinese medicine is not about instant fixes. It is about understanding how the body responds to change and working with its natural rhythms over time. The most effective treatment happens when care is applied accurately and consistently, rather than reactively.
I apply classical Chinese medical principles in a way that is practical and accessible, whether someone is dealing with long-standing pain, hormonal shifts, or emotional pressure. Acupuncture and related therapies work by restoring circulation, easing internal constraint and allowing the body to regulate itself more clearly.
Treatment focuses on root patterns, not quick cures.
Continuing Study and Mentorship
Chinese medicine is a lifelong practice.
Alongside ongoing clinical work, I continue advanced study and mentorship in Classical Chinese Medicine. This ensures that my practice remains both technically rigorous and faithful to the traditional principles that have guided effective treatment for centuries.
