Meet Esaias Hobbs — Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine in Lewes
A Practical, Grounded Approach
I’ve been practising Chinese medicine for over 20 years. My work is based on observation, clear diagnosis, and providing steady, personalised treatment over time.
I offer acupuncture that’s rooted in classical Chinese methods — well-established clinical principles applied in a practical, responsive way.
This system isn’t about imposing a one-size-fits-all protocol. It’s about treating what’s there — helping the body return to a state where it can regulate and respond effectively
Clear, Responsive Treatment
It’s rare to see symptoms in isolation. We see patterns shaped by work, relationships, stress, sleep, injury, habits, and how life has been responded to over time.
We treat what presents. Acupuncture addresses physiological and energetic dysregulation — identifying where regulation has broken down and applying precise intervention to restore it.
It’s not about instant fixes, however in some case this can happen, we notice that change is often cumulative. When things begin to shift, the effects hold longer. As the system stabilises, we become more sensitive to treatment and the need for intervention usually becomes less frequent.
You don’t need to “believe” in acupuncture for it to work, after all you can’t tell a racehorse to believe, yet it’s frequently successful in this arena. It does work best, however, when we engage treatment as process rather than an event.
Working with Cycles and Change
My practice draws on classical Chinese medicine’s understanding of natural cycles — daily, seasonal, and long-term. The body reflects these changes constantly: shifts in energy, resilience, appetite, temperature regulation, and emotional capacity.
Treatment is adjusted to meet these shifts. Some people come for acute support. Others come seasonally, or over time, to track and adjust to life-stage changes.
This includes menstrual health, fertility, menopause, burnout, chronic illness, post-viral fatigue, and recovery from long-term stress. I work with both ongoing care and focused short-term treatment — depending on what your system requires.
Focus and Clinical Interests
My clinical work includes pain (acute and chronic), fatigue, stress, emotional health, insomnia, hormonal regulation, and the many ways these overlap.
I also work with people in long-term health transitions — post-viral fatigue, burnout, autoimmune patterns, and the aftermath of sustained physical or emotional strain.
I don’t treat everything the same way. Sessions are based on what your body presents — not a checklist or protocol.
Acupuncture in Lewes
My clinic is located at The Old Police Station, 35 West Street — a quiet space in the centre of Lewes.
I work with people seeking treatment for a wide range of conditions — or simply a space to recalibrate and feel more like themselves again.
If you’re not sure whether acupuncture is right for you, I offer a free 20-minute consultation. There’s no pressure — just time to talk it through and decide whether this approach fits.
