Massage & Bodywork in Lewes Rooted in Chinese Medicine
Massage & Bodywork in Lewes Rooted in Chinese Medicine
Hands-on treatment is one of the oldest and most direct ways to support the body’s healing. In Chinese medicine, massage isn’t just about muscles — it’s used to move blood and Qi, release stagnation, support organ function, and calm the nervous system.
I offer one-to-one sessions in Lewes that may include a combination of Chinese medical massage (Tui Na), acupressure, and soft tissue techniques. Everything is tailored to you and your needs on the day.
What This Work Can Support
Massage and bodywork may be helpful for:
Muscular tension and pain
Injury recovery and rehabilitation
Circulation and lymphatic support
Menstrual or digestive discomfort
Nervous system regulation
Stress, anxiety, or emotional exhaustion
Chronic conditions that need steady, hands-on support
If you’re not sure whether this type of work is right for you, I offer a free 20-minute consultation to talk things through.
What Is Tui Na?
Tui Na (pronounced twee-nah) is the Chinese name for medical massage. It’s a hands-on therapy used alongside acupuncture, herbal medicine, and movement practice in classical Chinese medicine. The techniques may be gentle or more dynamic depending on your condition, and the treatment always works in harmony with the body - not against it.
It can be done through clothing or directly on the skin with oils, depending on what’s needed. Some sessions may focus on muscular release, others on internal function - for example, abdominal work to support digestion or hormonal regulation.
A Quiet, Restorative Space
Sessions take place in a peaceful clinic room in Lewes, set up to give you space to settle, rest, and process whatever’s unfolding. You’re always covered, warm, and supported. Treatment gowns and blankets are available if clothing needs to be adjusted for access.
You don’t need to know what you need before you come — we’ll talk, assess, and decide together. This work is collaborative, responsive, and rooted in classical medicine.
