Acupuncture FAQ
Your initial visit will last up to 2 hours where information will be gathered about your main ailment and overall health.
We will analyze your pulse and tongue, and blood pressure may also be recorded.
A detoxification treatment is usually performed first, using meridian points on your back to assess and disperse toxins.
Acupuncture filaments are carefully positioned in meridian points and may remain for up to 20 minutes while you relax.
Subsequent treatments last between 45 minutes and 1 hour.
After approximately 6 treatments, we will evaluate your progress and discuss next steps.
All acupuncture filaments used are sterilized and disposable.
They are as thin as a hair, so most patients don’t even notice their insertion.
A small electrical sensation or dull ache may be felt upon activation of the acupuncture point, but it certainly isn’t painful.
All needles are used once and then safely stored for incineration.
